Air Source Heat Pump Installation Across Altrincham
Thinking about moving away from gas heating, but want to be sure it’s the right call? Most homeowners we speak to when they’re looking for heat pump installers in Altrincham are weighing the upfront cost of a heat pump against the long-term savings, and rightly so.
When the system is genuinely designed for your home, the maths usually stacks up: lower running costs, lower emissions, and up to £7,500 knocked off through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. When it isn’t, you’re left with a system that underperforms and bills that don’t drop the way they should.
That’s why every Altrincham install we take on starts with a proper heat loss survey. Operating out of Holmes Chapel and covering Altrincham and the wider area, Hohm builds every system around the home it’s going into. Your property, your existing pipework, what you want out of it ten years from now, all of that shapes the design, before a single bracket gets fitted.

If your home qualifies, we’ll handle the paperwork so there’s nothing extra for you to arrange.
Heat Loss Surveys across Altrincham
The heat loss survey is what separates a heat pump that works from one that disappoints. We’ll spend time at your property, look at how your current system performs, and put real numbers behind your home’s heating demand. Those figures become the foundation of your system design.

What Makes Hohm the Right Choice for Altrincham
Altrincham’s mix of period terraces, larger detached homes and everything in between means there’s no one-size-fits-all heat pump design. We treat every property as its own job, with the survey and design work to match.
We’re a 30-minute drive from Altrincham, working out of Holmes Chapel, close enough that we can turn up on time, stay reachable when you need us, and keep the aftercare properly local.
Every system gets sized and specified for the home it’s going into, with a fixed-price quote and nothing tucked away in the small print.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install heat pumps in Altrincham?
Yes, we look after air source heat pumps across Altrincham and the wider WA14 and WA15 postcodes, taking in Bowdon, Hale, Timperley, Hale Barns and Dunham Massey. With our base in Holmes Chapel nearby, surveys and ongoing support are kept properly local.
What sort of price should I expect for a heat pump in Altrincham?
Expect a range from around £12,000 to £20,000+, with the final figure influenced by your home’s size, your current heating setup, and how efficient you want the finished system to be. Up to £7,500 of that is covered by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, applied straight to your quote. Get in touch for a tailored figure.
Can you explain how the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is applied?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a government grant worth up to £7,500 towards an air source heat pump installation. We file the application for you so the money comes off your quote immediately, no waiting around for a rebate. If you’re switching from oil or LPG, the grant is set to climb to £9,000 from summer 2026.
Is a heat pump capable of heating an Altrincham home through winter?
Yes, provided it’s been designed correctly for your individual property. The heat loss survey we carry out at the start is what guarantees the system can cope with even the coldest stretches of the year.
What's the timeline for a heat pump install?
Most jobs wrap up in 3 to 5 working days. If your radiators or pipework need an upgrade as part of the work, that can add another 3 to 8 working days. We’ll lay out the full schedule in your tailored proposal so there’s no guesswork.
