Air Source Heat Pump Installation for Congleton Households
Switching from a gas boiler is a big decision, and most homeowners researching heat pump installers in Congleton want to know it’ll work properly before they commit. The good news is that a well-designed air source heat pump genuinely does the job: warm home, lower bills, lower carbon, and up to £7,500 off through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. The bad news is that not all installs are well-designed, which is where the disappointing horror stories come from.
That’s exactly why Hohm does a full heat loss survey before designing any system. We’re a Cheshire-based heat pump business operating out of Holmes Chapel, just a short trip from Congleton, and we take time to understand your property, your current setup and what matters to you most about how the system runs.

PR Cheshire
Dan carried out my third heat loss survey and was the most thorough, having come armed with a boroscope to check on insulation in ceilings and walls.
He came up with a design that suited me in terms of location of equipment, and we agreed on radiator upgrades over the next few weeks. The work followed a couple of months later, with Luke joining Dan on the install. They worked hard, carefully and conscientiously, sometimes for long hours. And they explained everything.
Dan has just been to service the ASHP after it's first year. I'm not surprised that it's been working well, and exceeded the predicted efficiency.
I'm very happy to now have a warm and comfortable house, and to recommend Hohm for heat pump design and install.

Very knowledgeable, high attention to detail, and overall a pleasure to work with.
Would recommend.
They also worked well alongside our other builders and seemed to go above and beyond for us. For example, to minimise the time my young family had without hot water they installed a temporary immersion heater. I also have to acknowledge how good they were with my kids who could have been perceived as getting in the way, but both Dan and Luke were great with them, talking to them about what they were doing and having fun. Shout out to Luke from my daughter who still talks about him all they time!
Then the performance. For my system, (5kW hest pump in 4 bed detached house) my efficiency in the first month has been 520%. Excellent outcome and and warm house 24/7.
Aftercare: perhaps one of the parts I appreciate the most, Dan's willingness to keep an eye on my system performance and help me to refine the settings to make sure it works for me. In the first 2 weeks, he was picking up issues before I had even noticed them and suggested how to change the settings.
Overall - incredible from start to finish and would fully recommend Hohm to anyone wanting a heat pump.

Dan, the owner, is friendly, very knowledgeable and conscientious. I am very pleased with the annual service performed on my boiler/system and I am confident that Hohm Ltd will be the perfect firm to provide services for the long term and to replace my boiler when the time comes.
I have no hesitation in recommending this firm’s services.

Dan will throughly assess the issue first and spend his time actually getting to the bottom of an issue & carries out the job to the highest standard.
Highly recommend HOHM ltd for all your boiler needs!
Luke was amazing clean and tidy
Did a great job and left no mess
Definitely recommend this company 5* rating!!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer heat pump installs in Congleton?
Yes, air source heat pumps are something we design, install and look after across Congleton and the CW12 postcode, taking in Astbury, Buglawton, Mossley, Eaton, Somerford, North Rode and Swettenham. Our base in Holmes Chapel is close by, which keeps surveys and ongoing support local.
Roughly, how much does an air source heat pump cost in Congleton?
Budgets generally sit between £12,000 and £20,000+, depending on the property’s size, the heating setup you already have and how efficient you want the finished system to be. Up to £7,500 of that comes off your quote via the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Get in touch for a tailored estimate.
How does the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant actually work?
It’s a UK government grant of up to £7,500 to put towards a new air source heat pump. We file the paperwork for you, and the money is taken directly off your quote rather than refunded later. If you’re replacing an oil or LPG boiler, the grant is set to increase to £9,000 from summer 2026.
Can a heat pump keep a Congleton home properly warm in winter?
Absolutely, provided it’s been correctly designed for your specific home. The heat loss survey at the start is what makes sure the system is up to the job, even when the temperature really drops.
How long is the install process on site?
A typical install runs 3 to 5 working days. If radiators or pipework need an upgrade as part of the work, plan for another 3 to 8 working days. The complete timeline is written into your tailored proposal.
